Análisis narratológico e intertextual de la obra Verde fue mi selva de Edna Iturralde

Abstract

The present research work is based on the narrative and inter-textual analysis of the novella VERDE FUE MI SELVA by Edna Iturralde, the most outstanding writer of the narrative ethno-history in the children and youth’s literature of Ecuador. This book is composed of several stories performed in the Ecuadorian Amazon. The protagonists are the Achuar, Shuar, Huaorani, Secoya, Quichua, and Cofán. This is about stories in which the author with great subtlety, makes the children to know the traditions and customs of indigenous peoples, at the same time she tries to sensitize them on the respect and care of the resources generously provided by nature. For the analysis we have selected eight stories which correspond to each of the ethnic groups mentioned, and we applied the theories of Narrative and Intertextuality proposed by Genette's. With this work we aim to highlight the importance that children and youth’s literature has in the formation of our children and young people’s identit.
