Principales motivos de consulta en pacientes adultos mayores de 15 años atendidos en emergencia del Hospital de la Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja, periodo mayo 2007-abril 2012

Abstract

Abstract: The main objective of this research work was to determine the main reasons for consultation of adult patients over 15 years of age who attend the HUTPL emergency service during May 2007-April 2012. Type of study: retrospective, descriptive, quantitative design, method used: indirect observation, instrument used: collection sheet. The following results were obtained: the distribution by gender showed a greater frequency in female patients (58.45%), with an average age of 39 years, with the highest attendance in the group of 20-35 years (45.94 %) of the total sample. Among the most frequent reasons for consultation were: abdominal pain that predominated in all age groups with 31.74%, followed by multiple trauma with 12.65%, pain in extremities 6.71%, respiratory symptoms without respiratory difficulty 4 .65%. It should be noted that the demand for emergency care at the HUTPL during the years 2007-2012 showed that the most frequent reason for consultation was abdominal pain in the majority of people who attended this health home.
