| Abstract: | CThis work, whose line of research is the technology applied to education, to analyze the relationship between income levels of the families of students at the Escuela Superior Politecnica del Litoral (ESPOL) and the use of Internet in academic activities and entertainment. Similarly, measures the relationship between academic performance and the use of Internet in academic and entertainment activities. The development of this research was conducted by applying the process of KDD, Data Mining and using SPSS version 19 software. It is identified that the proposed hypotheses are not met, since there is no relationship between the level of income of the families of the students and the use of the Internet for learning; There is no relationship between income level and Internet use for entertainment. The use of technology in learning does not affect academic performance, and the use of technology for entertainment does not affect academic performance |
| Description: | Este trabajo, cuya línea de investigación es la Tecnología aplicada a la educación, permite analizar las relaciones entre los niveles de ingreso de los familiares de los estudiantes de la Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) y el uso de Internet en actividades académicas y de entretenimiento. De igual manera, mide las relaciones entre el rendimiento académico y el uso de Internet en actividades académicas y de entretenimiento. El desarrollo de la presente investigación se realizó aplicando el proceso de KDD, de la Minería de Datos y el uso del software SPSS versión 19. Se identifica que no se cumplen las hipótesis propuestas, puesto que no existe relación entre el nivel de ingresos económicos de los familiares de los estudiantes y el uso de Internet para el aprendizaje; tampoco existe relación entre el nivel de ingresos y el uso de Internet para el entretenimiento. El uso de la tecnología en el aprendizaje no incide en el rendimiento académico, así como el uso de la tecnología en para el entretenimiento no incide en el rendimiento académico |
