Evaluación de la infraestructura de la provincia de Loja como facilitador de la competitividad regional.

Abstract

In this paper the results of the preliminary assessment of the infrastructure of the province of Loja as facilitator of regional competitiveness are presented. The evaluation focuses on the infrastructure for economic development, including communication (roads, ports, airports, and telecommunications), energy (power plants, power grids, substations, pipelines, service stations) and (urban and industrial) solid waste sector. The need to assess the quality of infrastructure from an international and regional approach is justified. The proposed methodology for assessing the state of the infrastructure of the Zone 7 of Ecuador from the perspective of competitiveness, in line with the challenges from the Zonal Development Agenda (AZD) is explained. The results obtained by systematizing and spatialize information available from secondary sources, classified by components shown; and correspondence between the state of the mapped infrastructure and the requirements posed by the priority projects in the analyzed AZD
