Abstract

This work is a product of the research entitled "Diagnosis of family - social exclusion of the elderly", of urban - rural sectors of Santa Isabel canton as well as of their parishes Cañaribamba, Shaglli and Abdón Calderón, the same one that aims to determine the Degree of social and family exclusion of a group of 60 older adults from the canton Santa Isabel, through fieldwork using methods, techniques and instruments to collect information that will lead us to determine the level of exclusion and the main problems that affect This population. During this short period of time I have personally experienced the violation of rights, as well as the needs of greater interest in older adults, who ask the state for their collaboration and commitment to satisfy them.

Consequently, 65% of older adults feel excluded from the social sphere because they are not taken into account by society, and 22% suffer from exclusion in the family environment by not being an active part of household chores.
