Catalogación y acciones de conservación de las Casas de Estancia de la hoya de Loja. Caso de estudio “Punzara Chico

Abstract

The current investigation proposes to conserve part of the local architectural heritage of the city of Loja, specifically the Punzara Chico home, by means of cataloging and conservation actions on its behalf. The cataloging process consists of an exhaustive procedure covering the investigation of the estate’s historical purpose, the analysis of the characteristics of its structural techniques, the legitimacy of its materials, its typology, and spatial organization in relation to other structures. This is to say that it gathers the most relevant aspects of the research of the estate and its environment, to be able to identify the most representative patrimonial values that should be conserved and revisited as a case study. With this background and criteria, established by the international and national entities charged with the oversight of cultural heritage, the proposed conservation actions will include the following: restoration and new usage of the building, with the goal of maintaining and passing it on to present and future generations.
