| Abstract: | The Zapotillo Irrigation Project is the most important in the southern region of Ecuador, due to its location in the border area with the Republic of Peru, and because it will include irrigated agriculture, a considerable area of land that is not currently used In agricultural production, with the purpose of improving the quality of life of the population settled in the area of influence of the project. The Zapotillo Irrigation Project is an aspiration of many years of the province of Loja and mainly of the Zapotillo canton. This project is one of the most important investments (U.S. $ 88,887,119.00) that the Ecuadorian Government makes and will serve for the irrigation of 10000 Ha. |
| Description: | El Proyecto de Riego Zapotillo, es el más importante de la región sur del Ecuador, por su ubicación en la zona fronteriza con la República del Perú, y porque incorporará a la agricultura de regadío, una apreciable superficie de tierras, que actualmente no son utilizadas en producción agropecuaria, con el propósito de mejorar la calidad de vida de la población asentada en el área de influencia del proyecto. El Proyecto de Riego Zapotillo es una aspiración de muchos años de la provincia de Loja y principalmente del cantón Zapotillo. Este proyecto es una de las inversiones (U.S. $ 88.887.119.00) más importante que el Gobierno Ecuatoriano realiza y servirá para la irrigación de 10000 Ha. |
