Abstract: This species, reported as endemic to northern Peru, is cited now for southern Ecuador; plant specimens were collected in two spots of dry scrub of the Loja Province (Catamayo and Saraguro counties) and places with similar climatic characteristics in the Azuay province. A brief description, a map of potential distribution and pictures of the species are given.
