dc.description	El sector servicios ha ganado gran importancia en países desarrollados y subdesarrollados tanto por su crecimiento económico como por la generación de empleo. La investigación analiza el sector servicios y su influencia en el crecimiento de las regiones en el Ecuador durante el periodo 2007-2014 a través de las técnicas de análisis regional y la descomposición del crecimiento a nivel de provincia y de cantones. Los resultados permitieron determinar que las regiones presentan un grado de especialización y crecimiento acusado del sector servicios llevando a generar desigualdades regionales tal como lo muestran los índices de especialización, localización y el índice de desigualdad respectivamente. Finalmente el análisis shift-share señala que el crecimiento de dicho sector responde al efecto estructural que presentan las actividades de alojamiento y comidas, financieras, administración pública y de salud	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	The services sector has gained great importance in developed and underdeveloped countries as much for their economic growth as for the generation of employment. The research analyzes the services sector and its influence on the growth of the regions in Ecuador during the period 2007-2014 through the techniques of regional analysis and the decomposition of growth at the province and canton level. The results allowed to determine that the regions present a degree of specialization and growth accused of the services sector leading to generate regional inequalities as shown by the indices of specialization, location and the index of inequality respectively. Finally, the shift-share analysis indicates that the growth of this sector responds to the structural effect of housing and food, financial, public administration and health activities.	es_ES
