dc.descriptionThe theme of this research is “The use of supplementary materials for teaching children in EFL Classes”. The purpose of this research was to find out whether or not teachers use supplementary materials, and if they are used, how pertinent, appropriate, and qualified those materials are. The method of the study was selecting an institution where English is taught as a foreign language. In this case, the study was developed in a public school in the city of Pelileo in the province of Tungurahua. The sample consisted of students from 4th, 5th and 6th grades. The data was collected through the observation of ten classes in each grade with the use of tables, questionnaires and interviews applied to the teachers and the students. It was necessary to develop a qualitative and quantitative process where the collected data was explored, analyzed and described in terms of pertinence, appropriateness, quality and frequency. Finally, it can be stated that the most important conclusion of this research is that the supporting materials used for teaching children in EFL classes were visual, audio and realia.es_ES
