Description: Abstract:The aim of the present research is to implement an automatic calibration algorithm for the BaWare (Water Balance Program) software. The purpose of this algorithm is to search for the optimum parameters for calibration based on the data observed, be they evapotranspiration (ETP) or flow rate. For this purpose, the parameters subject to calibration were identified, and later a sensitivity analysis was performed in order to establish their respective ranges of variation and to identify the influence of each of them on the water balance. The results show that the parameters "c" and "a" have a significant influence on both the ETP calibration and the flow rates. However, at the time of calibrating the flow rates, a significant reduction in the ETP values was observed. This is due to the fact that in the hydrological model the flows are directly related to the ETP, so a reduction of it produces an increase in the flows. Likewise, the parameter "a" has negative values, whereas the opposite occurs when calibrating the ETP.
