Title: Estilos de conducción y salud mental en conductores motorizados en el Ecuador del año 2025 Authors: Pauta Ríos, Gabriela Alfonsina Abstract: Abstract: The overall objective of this research was to evaluate driving styles and mental health in motorized drivers with a type C license belonging to two light transport cooperatives (taxi-type) in the city of Macas, Morona Santiago province, during the year 2025. A quantitative methodology was used, through non-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional research. Four instruments were applied: an ad hoc sociodemographic questionnaire, the Multidimensional Driving Styles Inventory (MDSI), the AUDIT questionnaire, and the Goldberg General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28). The population consisted of 75 drivers with a type C professional license. The results showed a predominance of reckless and anxious driving styles, a moderate presence of mental health disorders, and mostly low to moderate alcohol consumption. A relationship was identified between dysfunctional driving styles and greater mental health impairment. It is concluded that it is essential to implement preventive strategies and intervention programs in mental health and road safety in the light transport sector. Description: Resumen: El objetivo general de la presente investigación fue evaluar los estilos de conducción y la salud mental en conductores motorizados con licencia tipo C pertenecientes a dos cooperativas de transporte liviano tipo taxi de la ciudad de Macas, provincia de Morona Santiago, durante el año 2025. Se utilizó una metodología cuantitativa, mediante una investigación no experimental, de tipo descriptivo y de corte transversal. Se aplicaron cuatro instrumentos: cuestionario sociodemográfico Ad Hoc, Inventario Multidimensional de Estilos de Conducción (MDSI), cuestionario AUDIT y el Cuestionario de Salud General de Goldberg (GHQ-28). La población estuvo conformada por 75 conductores con licencia profesional tipo C. Los resultados evidenciaron predominio de estilos de conducción imprudentes y ansiosos, presencia moderada de alteraciones en la salud mental y un consumo de alcohol mayoritariamente de riesgo bajo a moderado. Se identificó relación entre estilos de conducción disfuncionales y mayor afectación en la salud mental. Se concluye que es indispensable implementar estrategias preventivas y programas de intervención en salud mental y seguridad vial en el sector del transporte liviano.
