dc.description	Los modelos de distribución potencial, son herramientas que nos ayudan a identificar y analizar objetivamente la distribución geográfica más probable para una especie en función de sus características ambientales. La etnobotánica permite conocer el uso de los recursos vegetales y la influencia del ambiente en las culturas interactuante. Por ello en el siguiente estudio se determinó la distribución potencial y usos de Oenocarpus bataua (Mart), en la provincia de Zamora Chinchipe - Ecuador. Según el modelo, la especie se encuentra potencialmente distribuida al noroccidente y sureste de la provincia, las variables ambientales que más influyen en el modelo son la precipitación anual 52.8%, precipitación del trimestre más frio 9.3%, precipitación del trimestre más húmedo 8% y el rango anual de temperatura 6.3 %. Según la importancia cultural de la especie, se registraron 4 categorías de uso: alimento, construcción, artesanía y medioambiental, la categoría con mayor frecuencia de citación fue alimento, la parte más usada de la planta fueron los frutos; las localidades con mayor registro de usos fueron: Santiago Paty, Zurmi y Martin Ujukan. dc.description	Potential distribution models are tools that help us identify and objectively analyze the most likely for a species based on their environmental characteristics geographical distribution. Ethnobotany allows knowing the use of plant resources and influence of the environment in the interacting cultures. Therefore, in the following study the potential and uses of Oenocarpus bataua (Mart) distribution is determined, in the province of Zamora Chinchipe – Ecuador. According to the model, the species is potentially distributed the northwest and southeast of the province, environmental variables that most influence the model are 52.8% of annual precipitation, precipitation of the coldest quarter 9.3%, precipitation of wettest quarter and 8% annual temperature range 6.3%. According to the cultural importance of the species, 4 categories of use were recorded: food, construction, craft and environmental category more often summons was food, the most used part of the plant, the fruits; the areas with highest record of uses were Santiago Paty, Zurmi and Martin Ujukan.	es_ES
