| Abstract: | Abstract: Croton thurifer (Euphorbieaceae) is a species commonly known as "Flycatcher" is a shrub whose leaves are used to treat ulcers. The total hexane extract was isolated and identified the Dammarenediol II 3-O-palmitate (C46H82O3) and total Atilo acetate extract the beta- sitosterol (C29H50O) was isolated. The compounds were characterized by NMR analysis and GC-MS. Extracts of hexane and ethyl acetate; and compounds isolated, showed no antibacterial activity. However, the two extracts showed moderate antifungal activity with MIC value of 250μg / ml against T. mentagrophytes and T. rubrum; Dammarenediol II while the 3-O-palmitate has an antifungal activity with a value of 125μg / ml against these two fungi. |
| Description: | Resumen: Croton thurifer (Euphorbieaceae) es una especie comúnmente conocida como “Mosquero” es un arbusto cuyas hojas son utilizadas para el tratamiento de úlceras. Del extracto total en hexano se aisló e identifico el Dammarenediol II 3-O-palmitate (C46H82O3) y del extracto total de acetato de atilo se aisló el ß-Sitosterol (C29H50O). Los compuestos fueron caracterizados mediante los análisis de RMN y CG-EM. Los extractos de Hexano y Acetato de etilo; así como los compuestos aislados, no presentaron actividad antibacteriana. Sin embargo, los dos extractos presentaron una moderada actividad antifúngica con un valor de CMI de 250μg/ml frente a T. mentagrophytes y T. rubrum; mientras que el Dammarenediol II 3-O-palmitate tiene una actividad antifungica con un valor de 125μg/ml frente a estos dos hongos. |
