Abstract

Actually, the elderly people have kept in your memories the oral tradition and they wish childhood and teenagers value the cultural speech that is found in your legendary stories so that it comes up the following question ¿ Will it be possible to study the most three well-known legends in San Gabriel city, Montúfar canton, Carchi province -2014? There is an aim in order to answer the problem that will guide the research work. To define the social and cultural characteristics of selected legends and ghosts stories through analysis of the characters, oral stories and the environment where they have been developed to contribute to the diffusion of our culture. Therefore, the legends have a fantastic and wonderful literary context where is detailed the performance of a character, the time when an event occurred and the place where was happened the story according to the gender.
