Análisis narratológico y hermenéutico de los cuentos del escritor Oswaldo Encalada

Abstract

In this work, a selection of tales of children's literature of the Ecuadorian writer, Oswaldo Encalada Vasquez, was analyzed, whose objective is to highlight narratological and hermeneutic aspects of literary works as a contribution and recognition of the work of writers of our country. A narratological methodology was applied in the stories "The Jurupi Enchanted" and "The Scrolls of Jarislandia"; in which, the value of nature stands out and thus the characteristics of the characters (bichita people) who contribute with their magic and creativity the representation of stories based on fantasy situations in a forest called Jarislandia. The hermeneutic methodology was applied in the stories "The Wizard of Goma" and "The Milizho". These are interesting stories that reveal very specific aspects of the Ecuadorian culture in general; and, of Cuenca in particular. In the books mentioned above, the value of traditional games, gastronomy, fairs, traditions and customs is discovered; in which, fantasy is a recurring theme that allows readers to know and appreciate the ethno-cultural wealth of a society.
