Intervención ambiental-comunitaria en las poblaciones de Chapte, San Jacinto y Usno, ante la presencia del Relleno Sanitario en la quebrada de Chapte

Abstract

This research work shows the investigation carried out in the landfill located in Chapte, which directly affects the communities of Chapte, San Jacinto and Usno located in Cojitamboparish, in Azogues canton, situated in Cañar province. In first place this investigation presents a summary of the topics associated with the environmental pollution, the legal framework around the emplacement of a landfill and the environmental conditions in which the landfill Chapte-Toray is located, with the purpose of analyze and interpret the results of the field research, where environmental impacts are determined by the population senses. Then, to carry out the investigation, the environmental problems that affect in a special way to the communities of Chapte, San Jacinto and Usnoare showed here because those communities are near to landfill. Once determined the environmental impacts in the population and the feebleness in the communities organization, the necessity to have a project of environmental community intervention to improve environmental quality in the area is evident, through direct intervention with residents of the communities, to provide through training processes, tools to address the problems that daily must live by the presence Chapte landfill
