Abstract

Abstract:The investigation titled "Analysis of the psychosocial variables associated to the metal health of students in freshman and junior year of High School Zone 9, Metropolitan District of Quito 17D04-Center, Circuit 17D04C03 in Ecuador, 2015", was aimed to analyze the distribution of psychosocial variables, that were associated to the consumption of illegal substances and to the mental health of the students of tenth and eleventh grade. The methodology, used for this investigation, was descriptive; this type of methodology helps identifying and analyzing the variables. The statistical and transversal methods simplified the organization of the information and the results from the analysis made. Also, a specific range of psychological tools was used as the investigation technique for a sample of 80 students, 39 students of tenth grade and 41 of eleventh grade; this allowed gathering information related to the study problem. The conclusion of this investigation included the analysis and development of an explanation relative to the distribution of the psychosocial variables, considered mental health predictors and also predictors of the consumption of alcohol and drugs. Finally, the result of the analysis determined the predominance of the protective variables over the risk variables.
