Abstract

The usage of toxic pigments for coloration of concrete and mortars was the reason to undertake in search of alternatives that support the concern for the planet and the environment, therefore complying with social responsibility and protection of nature. In the current investigation concrete walls and mortars were built, using natural pigments. The purpose was to test its feasibility in addition to reduce the use of toxic elements currently being used in the industry. After the completion of the technical studies of the concrete walls and mortars using natural pigments, it was possible to determine that: not pigmented concrete. Meanwhile the mortars if it is pigmented and get suitable physical-mechanical properties, the parameters are covered under the INEN norms and others similar; All this conducted the application to the mortars as plaster to the inside of brick walls, and cement blocks; In some way to attain business profit.
