| Abstract: | Evaluating Management Effectiveness (EEM) Shelter Island Wildlife Heart and Frigates (REVISICOF) was performed to provide strategic information on the current state and establish the level of achievement of objectives and conservation goals, This assessment was based on Hockings referential framework and methodology Prioritization Rapid Assessment and Management of Protected Areas (RAPPAM by its acronym in English) of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF for its acronym in English). The EEM was performed between May 2015 and January 2016. Evaluating management effectiveness Island Wildlife Refuge Heart and Frigates got a score of 2.09 and a percentage of 70%, equivalent to a Satisfactory management. The area in which the REVISICOF obtained the highest score corresponds to planning with 2.60 (87.88%), it indicates that the area has tools for planning, management and operational plans that consider the biophysical, socioeconomic and political conditions; while the area that had the lowest score corresponds to Processes, with 1.75 (58%), indicating a need to strengthen rapprochement and interaction of stakeholders. |
| Description: | Se efectúo la Evaluación de Efectividad de Manejo (EEM) del Refugio de Vida Silvestre Isla Corazón y Fragatas (REVISICOF), para proporcionar información estratégica sobre el estado actual y establecer nivel de cumplimiento de objetivos y metas de conservación, Esta evaluación tomó como base el marco referencial de Hockings y la metodología de Evaluación y Priorización Rápidas del Manejo de Áreas Protegidas (RAPPAM por sus siglas en inglés) del Fondo Mundial para la Naturaleza (WWF por sus siglas en inglés). La EEM se efectúo entre mayo del 2015 y enero del 2016. La evaluación de efectividad de manejo del Refugio de Vida Silvestre Isla Corazón y Fragatas obtuvo una puntuación de 2.09 y un porcentaje del 70%, equivalente a un manejo Satisfactorio. El ámbito en el cual el REVISICOF obtuvo la puntuación más alta corresponde a Planificación con 2.60 (87.88%), indica que el área cuenta con herramientas de planificación, planes de manejo y operativos que consideran las condiciones biofísicas, socioeconómicas y políticas; mientras que el ámbito que obtuvo la puntuación más baja corresponde a Procesos, con 1,75 (58%), indica necesidad de fortalecer acercamiento y la interacción de los grupos de interés. |
