Abstract: Abstract: SMEs are the are the set of small and medium companies that conduct business in Ecuador, which according to their turnover, capital, number of employees, production level are considered SMEs. These companies are engaged in different activities such as manufacturing, construction, transportation, real estate and services. In recent years they have undergone considerable development and have efficiently adapted to changes in economic activity. SMEs account for 90% of productive units Ecuador, generate 60% of employment, 50% involved in the production and generate almost 100% the services you need an Ecuadorian citizen. They are also the sector that has developed in more recent years, despite being a sector that has struggled for funding, as access to credit and other constraints to undertake technological development processes. This research is conducted in order to know what the impact of SMEs in the Ecuadorian economy, analysis and development of SMEs from 2000 to 2012 and describes each of the widespread and current aspects of SMEs.
Description: Resumen: En esta tesis vamos a conocer el entorno de las pequeñas y medianas empresas del Ecuador, aporte a la economía y la generación de empleo que generan las mismas. Los servicios que ofrece el sistema financiero al sector empresarial permiten conocer además el perfil de los empresarios ecuatorianos y la opinión que les merecen las fuentes de financiamiento y las ventajas y desventajas que ofrecen las regulaciones del Banco Central.
