Potencialización del cultivo de tomate de árbol (Solanum betaceum Cav.) a través de condiciones controladas, con respecto a los cultivantes morado y anaranjado

Abstract: Through this study we have evaluated the productive characteristics of the tomato of the tree in the interior and an open field, according to the cultivars orange and purple. These productive characteristics were studied through variables related to the architecture of the plant, the inflorescences and especially with the characteristics of the fruit (length, diameter, apex angle, base angle, length and weight of the pedicel) and yield of treatments and controls. In addition, the crop phytosanity was evaluated, determining the presence of insects and diseases present in the first period of production of the plants. There were no significant differences between cultivars. However, the differences between greenhouse and open field plants were reduced, the latter being significantly more productive than those established in the open field and less susceptible to the presence of insects and diseases.
