| Abstract: | The "Design of a conservation system for the province of La Concordia, province of Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas" was carried out through the linking of sectional governments, public and private institutions, civil actors and the inclusion of the protected area of the town, With the purpose of contributing to the management, management and conservation of the natural heritage of the place. The presence of the "La Perla" Protective Forest and two plant formations in the canton were determined: the evergreen lowland forest of the Equatorial Chocó with a coverage of 595 hectares and a representativeness of 42% under protection and the evergreen Chocó Equatorial with coverage of 55 hectares and without representation under protection. Fragmentation and poor coverage of natural forests leave no possibility of establishing extensive protected natural areas, only 650 hectares of natural forest, equivalent to 2% of coverage exist throughout the canton. | Description: | Se realizó el “Diseño de un sistema de conservación para el cantón La Concordia, provincia Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas” a través de la vinculación de los gobiernos seccionales, instituciones públicas y privadas, actores civiles y la inclusión del área protegida de la localidad, con el propósito de contribuir al ordenamiento, manejo y conservación del patrimonio natural del lugar. Se determinó la presencia del Bosque Protector “La Perla” y dos formaciones vegetales en el cantón: el Bosque siempreverde de tierras bajas del Chocó Ecuatorial con cobertura de 595 hectáreas y una representatividad del 42% bajo protección y el Bosque siempreverde estacional de tierras bajas del Chocó Ecuatorial con cobertura de 55 hectáreas y sin representatividad bajo protección. La fragmentación y la poca cobertura de los bosques naturales no dejan posibilidad de establecer áreas naturales protegidas extensas, apenas 650 hectáreas de bosque natural, que equivalen al 2% de cobertura existen en todo el cantón.
