Abstract

This research made to get the Bachelor´s degree is based on the Qipao Suit, making an abstraction of symbolic elements as a resource in the generation of patterns for clothing design. The main objective of this study is to establish the characteristics and symbolic elements of the Qipao Suit, to apply as a characterization of a new way of fashion design .We will start this project with the historical context to make an analysis of the changes of Qipao Suit through the centuries. As a second step we will understand the concepts apply in graphic design, using some of the most important elements in the Chinese culture as the modules. Finally we will present the final project based on this previous moments were we can see the clothing designed. As in any other culture, the outfits used along the history of the Chinesse Dinastys have had a lot of changes. In this investigation the traditional clothing will be studied to create the bases of the information about the dress until the Qing Dinasty decides Qipao as its official dress. From the elements selected, we have made some graphic design transformations, creating structural modules that will be used in our fashion design for the new suit.
