Abstract

The Technical University of Loja - UTPL was founded by the Ecuadorian Marist Community (AME) on May 3, 1971, and administered by it until October 1997. It is currently run by the Community of Missionary and Missionary Idents. The UTPL; By decree NO 646, published in official register NO 217 of May 5, 1971, is constituted as an autonomous legal person, with social and public purpose, being able to teach, to carry out research with scientific-administrative freedom, and to participate in the plans Of developing the country, granting and recognizing academic degrees and professional qualifications and, in general, carrying out own activities to achieve its goals. The current Statute, approved on January 30, 2002 by the National Council of Universities and Polytechnic Schools "CONESUP" establishes in its art. 31 that the Technical University of Loja provides higher education pre and postgraduate through the modalities of study.
