Propuesta de plan de gestión integral de los residuos sólidos generados en la unidad educativa San Francisco de Asís de la Ciudad de Loja

Abstract

The present titling work was developed in San Francisco de Asís Educational Unit. There were observations of the institution also the cleaning staff was interviewed about cleanliness. A survey was used among students and teachers. Later a sampling program was carried out where waste was collected from each of the selected classrooms, the same as the school yard, offices, and bathrooms. They were identified and weighed. From these values, the per capita generation was determined giving a total of 0.015 kg/hab/day which corresponds to the volume and density of solid waste. Then the characterization of the residues was carried out, being only 7% organic matter and the inorganic was represented in: Paper with 42%, Plastic with 24%, Cardboard 11%, Tetra pack 5%, Wood and Others 3 %, Fabrics and Metal 2%, Glass 1%. With all these data the proposal for the management of solid waste was elaborated, it consists on a Plan composed by four programs: training, minimization at the source, separation and use of solid waste.
