Abstract

One of the main causes of migration to cities is the search for new opportunities, trying to improve quality of life, our city is not exempt from this social phenomenon; The increase in student population in the various centers of higher education at the local level confirms this. The academic level and the offer of new careers that the particular Technical University of Loja has managed to implement in the last decade have led to significant growth in both teaching and teaching staff. So today we have in our classrooms not only with students from the province of Loja, but also from different sectors of the southern region of our country, and even from abroad. The shortage of housing for the foreign student population causes the appearance of overcrowding in the buildings dedicated to housing, which leads to the presence of different social anomalies. We can not deny that a student's lack of a suitable place to live has a negative influence on his emotional stability and therefore on his academic performance.
