Simulación en la adquisición de competencias clínicas para realizar sondaje vesical y punción suprapúbica con estudiantes de medicina de la UTPL, periodo septiembre 2014-marzo 2015

Abstract

This research shows the development of training material that has been used for a practice and later assessment by OSCE about catheterization and suprapubic puncture, applied to medical students of Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL). The equipment designed is a tutorial guide and an interactive video, which were performed under medical tutoring. The practice was held at the beginning of the cycle in UTPL’s students during September 2014-February 2015 academic year; at the end of the practice, the students were assessed by OSCE to assess the acquisition of clinical competence, where one hundred percent of them acquired the competition. At the end of the cycle a new OSCE was applied to assess the memory footprint compared to the practice given at the beginning of the cycle; the results were favorable because all students acquired the competition, which means that students of UTPL retained successfully the knowledge acquired at the beginning of the cycle.
