Análisis de la competitividad del área de producción metalmecánica de la empresa Santa Bárbara EP., ubicada en Sangolquí-Ecuador, período 2013-2014

Abstract

Abstract: This graduation work responds the need to establish the level of competitiveness of the metalworking area of Santa Bárbara, for the period 2013-2014. The company is located in the city of Sangolquí, Rumiñahui county, Pichincha state. First of all, a bibliographic review was carried out in order to know the state of the art regarding productivity, competitiveness, efficiency, effectiveness and analysis of internal and external environments of organizations. Then, two methods were identified and applied to assess the competitiveness of the organization; The first one is related to the operational field and the second is related to the strategic field. In the first case information from the financial statements for the years 2012, 2013 and 2014 was taken. For the second case, a survey was applied to all employees of the company. In both cases results were obtained that allowed to establish that the level of competitiveness of the metalworking area of the company Santa Bárbara, is very weak in the operational area and weak in the strategic area. Finally, proposals were presented for strategies that seek to improve the level of competitiveness and that should be analyzed by top management and whether or not to apply.
