Abstract: Abstract: Presents the results of the traditional knowledge it brings over of the use of medicinal plants for the treatment of antitumoral and antiinflammatory diseases between the inhabitants of Nayón's parish, Quito. There were realized surveys semi-structured to 124 people aged 18and over. Of every species it registered: common name, use, habit, morphologic structures used of the plant, place of obtaining, frequency of use; equally information of the informants was registered as age, kind and level of education. The information was analyzed by means of statistical methods and etnobotánicos as anova and Friedman's indexes or Level of loyalty (FL), Factor of informants' consensus (FIC) and cultural Importance (IC) respectively. There were registered mainly introduced and cultivated grasses corresponding to 19 medicinal species, of 12 botanical families, distributed in 6 uses. The most mentioned species jurisdictions Matricaria recutita L., Origanum vulgare L., and Cymbopogon citratus (DC.) Stapf. The air parts of the plant are most used in different therapeutic uses being the gastrointestinal inflammations and the nerves those of major consensus of 0.96 and 0.94 respectively, as well as the tea or infusion the form most used of preparation. The species with major level of loyalty (100%) were Chenopodium ambrosioides L., Citrus máxima (Rumph. Ex Burm.) Merr., Laurus nobilis L., Mentha pulegium L., Eucalyptus citriodora Hook.f., Borago officinalis L., y Urtica dioica L., it is possible to conclude that the traditional knowledge and use of medicinal plants is kept and one sees reflected in a high consensus of the use of the same ones in spite of the fact that in the main they are introduced species, the use of the same ones is influenced by several cultural and social factors of every locality that must be considered.
Description: Resumen: Se presentan los resultados del conocimiento tradicional acerca del uso de plantas medicinales para el tratamiento de enfermedades antitumorales y antiinflamatorias de los habitantes de la parroquia de Nayón, Quito. Se realizaron encuestas semi-estructuradas a 124 personas mayores de 18 años. De cada especie se registró: nombre común, uso, hábito, estructuras morfológicas utilizadas de la planta, lugar de obtención, frecuencia de uso; igualmente se registraron datos de los informantes como edad, género y nivel de educación. Los datos se analizaron mediante métodos estadísticos y etnobotánicos como anova e índices de Friedman o Nivel de fidelidad (FL), Factor de consenso de informantes (FIC) e Importancia cultural (IC) respectivamente. Se registraron mayormente hierbas introducidas y cultivadas correspondientes a 19 especies medicinales, de 12 familias botánicas, distribuidas en 6 usos. Las especies más citadas fueros Matricaria recutita L., Origanum vulgare L., y Cymbopogon citratus (DC.) Stapf.
