Diseño de programas de interpretación ambiental para la isla Santay (Guayas)

Abstract

Abstract: Performed this work on the Santay island situated 800 metres away from the city of Guayaquil and belonging to the canton Eloy Alfaro (Durán), in the province of Guayas (Municipio de Guayaquil, 2017). The island Santay counts with a surface total of approximately 2.200 ha, where is contemplates the forest dry-tropical as one of its main attractive natural. The Santay island has 256 inhabitants approximately. With the purpose of giving alternatives of conservation to the natural resources of the Santay Island, several projects have been developed in the protected area, one of them being that a greater boost has been given to the project known as community-based tourism and which is accompanied by an environmental interpretation centre implemented but not adequately. The Centre environmental has a low signal and interpretive signage, which becomes priority to the design of programmes of environmental interpretation oriented toward the education and environmental awareness.
