This research refers to the use of anglicisms in Ecuadorian magazines. The massive number of anglicisms used in the Spanish language generates lexical interference between both English and Spanish. This research explains how the Spanish is constantly threatened because of English. It will provide us information about the way English is influencing in our native language in terms of anglicisms, through sintactic, semantic, and morphologic analysis. Data were collected through Ecuadorian magazines, such as cultural magazines (magazines published by Casa de la Cultura, Scholarly magazines (technology, economics), and General Interest magazines (Vistazo magazines) in the city of Guayaquil. This study combines quantitative and qualitative methods as an instrument of data collection. Through these results, it was found that there is an increased use of some English words in our country, as well as an exaggerated use of anglicisms, such as CD, Windows, internet, email, web software, laptop, among others. As a conclusion, this research demonstrates that there is a high number of anglicisms found in Ecuadorian magazines especially in such areas of: fashion, culture, and technology.es_ES
