Abstract: Public green areas have taken a leading role in the sustainability of cities due to their environmental, social and economic impact. The present investigation carries out a study of the sustainability in the 19 neighborhoods of the Sucre parish in the city of Loja, as well as an assessment of the quality of the green areas for public use that currently exist. The study allows identifying and assessing the relationship between the sustainability that the parish has and the quality of its public green areas, therefore a series of strategies are developed based on the assessment methodologies applied for the creation of public green spaces aligned with the Objective. of Sustainable Development (ODS) 11.7 of sustainable cities and communities, where its users perceive comfort, security and accessibility; In addition, the applied strategies define public green areas as areas that foster the meeting of the population, promote their mental and physical health, and promote the cohesion and economic, social and environmental well-being of the Sucre parish.
