Abstract

Abstract: The thesis entitled "The Face of Poverty in the Zapotillo canton", comes from the need to know to what extent poverty levels have an effect on the daily life of the population, thus capturing their economic and social reality. For the present investigation, a qualitative methodology has been used, which focuses on the characteristics of households in a state of poverty, this means that we will not only show the level of poverty of households by the figures that the studies show, but also describe the conditions in which households live.To analyze the economic and social situation of the Zapotillo canton, an information survey was carried out in the study sector, with the use of interviews, the "Life History" technique was implemented, which will be analyzed later; This was done telematically, by means of videoconference or telephone call. The families that were chosen for the collection of information met the requirements of our research, since they belonged to the poor section of the population, and at least had a telephone to be able to interview them; These households told us how poverty affects their daily lives, and how they felt in these conditions.
