Abstract

Abstract: This research analyzes how the violation of the fundamental rights of children and adolescents affects the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals at the global level, these goals seek to achieve a just, equitable and sustainable society for all. Specifically, the study concerning SDG N ° 16 is carried out, which contemplates peace, justice and solid institutions. This objective has been linked to the study of an extraordinary protection action sentence issued by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Ecuador, in a maintenance process aired in the ordinary justice system. The present case highlights the importance of compliance with the right to food of a minor, compared to the guarantee of having the subsistence that makes it possible to cover their basic needs, emphasizing the best interests of the child, as a substantial principle of the System of Integral Protection that the special laws in the matter of childhood and adolescence have. Public policies, plans and programs in Ecuador are analyzed to guarantee the enjoyment and protection of the rights of this priority group.
