Cambio de uso de suelo y cobertura vegetal por la expansión de centralidades poblacionales en la parroquia rural Vilcabamba, 1989 - 2020

Abstract

Abstract: The multi-temporal analysis of the vegetation that cover the land and the use of its soil, with the help of satellite images and geo informatic tools, provides a high level of visualization of the changes which are produced in the territory, allowing to approximate to spatial and quantitative trends towards where the territory is heading, with purposes of realize a sustainable planning. This survey tries to verify that the population centralities of the rural area of Vilcabamba, is a cause that contributed both to the loss of productive soil and the vegetation in unsuitable areas. To do this, through the analysis of the transformation of vegetation that cover the land and the use of its soil, under the processing of Landsat satellite images in the years 1989, 2005, 2016 and 2020, were evaluated the changes caused by the expansion of centralities at that time, ending with the construction of scenarios based on the trends found, we are sure that this investigation will contribute to improve the cantonal and parish planning instruments. I can conclude that in Vilcabamba there are significant changes of the use of soil from agricultural mosaics, grasslands and native forest cover, shrubby and herbaceous vegetation to population expansions which are disorderly and, in some cases, they can find in risk areas.
