Abstract

Abstract: The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have represented one of the worst economic crises for the family environment. Therefore, this research focuses on analyzing the economic impact generated by the COVID-19 pandemic on families in the Piñas canton, period 2019 -2021. In order to accomplish the proposed, a quantitative methodology with a non-experimental -longitudinal design was used, in addition to two types of technical techniques such as the questionnaire and the survey, applied to a population sample of 365 heads of household. It was found that unemployment increased from 7.7% in 2019 to 11.5% in 2021, it is also evident that income decreased from $425 -$825 in 2019 to earn less than $425 in 2021. For this, they took economic measures such as entrepreneurship, Delivery services and teleworking. However, the situation forced 29% of the families to look for ways out through financial support. Knowing the problem, some suggestions have been made to avoid the economic decline of the families and to strengthen the existing deficiencies.
