Propuesta de mejoras de bajo coste en la seguridad vial de la vía La Era Indiucho (Catamayo Loja Ecuador) utilizando el método iRAP

Abstract

Abstract: The high number of deaths due to traffic accidents and serious injuries due to traffic accidents, has become a public health problem at a global level, for which a measure that has been promoted around the world is the development of programs that allow evaluating the level of road safety of road infrastructure and propose measures that help reduce the high rates of deaths from traffic accidents. The International Road Assessment Program (iRAP) proposes a methodology which allows evaluating the road safety of highways, through a star classification system. The present work was developed with the objective of evaluating the La Era Indiucho (Catamayo Loja) road, using the iRAP methodology and improving its road safety through low-cost improvement measures. The results of the study showed that most of the sections of the road reached a star rating of 1 star and with the application of the proposed improvement measures, 3 stars were reached and exceeded in some sections.
