El impacto de la pandemia COVID-19 en el desempeño financiero de las empresas turísticas, transporte y comercio de la provinciade Zamora Chinchipe-Ecuador

Abstract

Abstract: Commerce, transportation, and tourism are related economic activities that day by day contribute to the economic development of Ecuador, the same ones that during 2020 were affected in their performance by the presence of COVID-19. However, during the health emergency, the most affected sector has been tourism, whose activities have been completely paralyzedas a result of the health measures dictated by the government. That is why the present work was developed with the objective of determining the impact caused by COVID-19 on the financial performance of trade, transport and tourism companies in the province of Zamora Chinchipe. For this reason, the profitability ratios of each of the companies in the sectors studied were evaluated in order to determine their level of impact. The results obtained revealed that trade and transportation had a positive impact on sales, but for tourism the impact was negative, thus indicating that tourism cannot continue with its economic activities and for its reactivation this sector must adjust to changing realities.
