Intervención Cognitiva en residente del Hogar de Adultos Mayores de la Cuidad de Loja, con diagnóstico de Deterioro Cognitivo Leve

Abstract

Abstract: The analysis of the present clinical case describes the current problem of an adult older than 76 years of age, resident for 11 years of the Home for the Elderly in the city of Loja Ecuador, diagnosed according to the ICD-10 with a code F.06.7, the same that corresponds to Mild Neurocognitive Disorder. He presents frequent forgetfulness regarding his short-term memory, likewise, he presents greater deterioration in his memory, attention and calculation, in addition, he has difficulties falling asleep and staying asleep. Regarding the intervention, techniques typical of a cognitive approach were selected. Total collaboration was obtained from the older adult, he was calm and with a participatory attitude most of the time, as well as empathic and open to dialogue. It is concluded that the intervention carried out was positive due to the improvements presented, mainly in the areas with greater difficulty, achieving greater independence and better quality of life for the elderly.
