Productividad y Crecimiento Económico del Sector Primario de Ecuador

Abstract

Abstract: The present research work is an analysis based on the Kaldor Laws on the economic growth and productivity of the primary sector in the Ecuadorian economy during the period 2004-2020, where the data series are expressed in quarterly frequency, the methods that used for verification are: Ordinary Least Squares (OLS), Autoregressive Vectors (VAR) and the cointegration test presented by Johansen. The study concludes that the primary sector has a positive impact on the economic growth of Ecuador, as postulated in the first Kaldor Law, despite the lack of investment, it shows greater economic growth, which is why it should be considered by the government an approach to agribusiness to improve productivity, where it becomes empowered, encouraged and regulated through the government, if in reality the primary sector were taken with greater attention it would generate multiplier effects for the gross added value of the country.
