Abstract

Abstract: Architecture in recent years has been evolving by leaps and bounds, now there are new construction methods that despite having advanced technology unfortunately continue to affect the environment. In this sense, the Shuar community that belongs to the Chicaña parish of the Yantzaza de Zamora Chinchipe canton is studied, where it seeks to rescue and provide solutions through ecological benefits that will be directly related to the Shuar way of life, because here, it is losing the architecture, design and construction of housing as a result of the culture, beliefs and religion of the communities, towns andrural areas that formerly built based on these meanings; That is why, in the present work, we sought to establish and know the thermal comfort that a vernacular and contemporary house has. For this, an analysis was made through simulations that allowed todemonstrate that the vernacular house is much more comfortable in the cold and the contemporary house is slightly more comfortable than the vernacular in the heat.
