Abstract: The Sustainable Development Goals have fixed goals that must be met, all aimed at improving the quality of life, creating awareness and generating the thought that citizens and ecosystems can live together in balance, taking what they need from each other, but without harming it.This research project aims to publicize the relationship between criminal law and the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically the sixteenth issue of Peace, Justice and Solid Institutions, through the study of an appeal in cassation.By failing to demonstrate the judicial error made by the judge in a lower instance, the defense of the defendant only affects the interests of the defendant, which implies that there is a direct violation of the principles of Legal Security and Effective Judicial Protection.
