Abstract

Abstract: Constructivism represents one of the great ideas in education. Its implications on how teachers teach and learn to teach are enormous. Under this context, research was conducted on the topic: Principles of constructivism in the Institutional Pedagogical Proposal of the School of Basic Education "Gabriel García Moreno", with the general objective of explaining the contribution of Social Constructivism to student learning as the basis of the Institutional Pedagogical Proposal. The present research had a descriptive non-experimental design, the documentary, analytical and synthetic methods were used, the instrument used was the relationship matrix where the principles of constructivism were established or identified. It is concluded that the principles of constructivism are present in the institutional pedagogical proposal through the teachers' functions. When the institution evidences the principles in the pedagogical proposal, it can be assumed that there is a degree of commitment for the execution of the same.
