Evaluación de la productividad del cultivo de cebolla (Allium cepa), con la aplicación de tecnologías agrícolas frente al manejo tradicional del agricultor

Abstract

Abstract: The onion (Allium cepa) is one of the most important vegetables in the world, but its production is in decline due to the poor use of soils and the inadequate use of different agronomic techniques. The application of basic technology is one of the alternatives to improve the productivity of this crop. The productivity of the crop was evaluated, applying available agricultural technologies such as irrigation, soil analysis, IPM compared to the conventional method given by farmers (without any type of technology). In addition, the benefit/cost relationship between the two systems was evaluated. The results indicate that producing onion with the application of basic technology improves the productivity of onion cultivation compared to producing it without the support of these; Regarding the benefit/cost ratio, given higher productions in the system with technologies, it is also positive and profitable. However, it is worth mentioning that, due to the variability of the onion price in the market, these benefit values may be affected.
