Abstract

Abstract: This research examines the innovative potential existing in the organizations of the Popular and Solidarity Economy of Catamayo, together with the problems and needs derived. For the collection of information, an interview was initially conducted with representatives of the entities linked to the support and monitoring of the popular and solidarity economy sector. At the same time, a structured survey was applied with the participation of representatives of the organizations of the sector in the canton. From the analysis, relevant information was obtained for the formulation of strategies and actions to address local social problems. The main conclusions reached show that the style of organization, control, regulation of public policy and the vision to innovate need to be modernized for greater efficiency and effectiveness in territorial application. Public interest in the sector must be reactivated, reinforced by the channeling of sufficient resources by the government for the promotion, encouragement and incentive of the national social and solidarity system.
