Análisis de la actividad de reciclaje informal en la ciudad de Zamora

Abstract

Abstract: Informal recycling is a normalized economic activity in the city of Zamora, yet there is no official database with information on the development of the recycling activity and its dynamics within the city. In the following research work, an analysis of theinformal recycling activity and how it develops in the city of Zamora was carried out; as an initial methodology, semi-structured interviews were applied to municipal representatives, informal recyclers and a representative of the recycling company; then surveys and non-participatory observation were applied to informal recyclers throughout the case study. The results show that the dynamics surrounding informal recycling in the city are positively oriented towards the mutual support and well-being of all those involved, whether they are directly or indirectly connected to recycling. In this case study there is a legal process of formalization of a pre-association created by all informal recyclers in the city. Some ideas were concluded such as: the main problems faced by recyclers are the climate and the demanding physical effort required to perform this type of activity; good internal organization by recyclers and external organization with key actors such as the Recycling Company and the Municipality positively influences a joint work with a common good.
