Salud mental en trabajadores sanitarios durante la pandemia de COVID-19 en Ecuador en el año 2021

Abstract

Abstract: The main objective of this research was to determine health care employees mental health conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic in Quevedo, Ecuador, in 2021; it is important to address psychological problems to improve their prevention and control. For this study, a non experimental cross-sectional research design was used; this design has an exploratory mode that has been less studied and is considered a recent topic. The research management is quantitative, including a non-probabilistic sample of 52 health care employees. Data collection was carried out through an online survey, using as references the Ad-Hoc questionnaire for sociodemographic data; the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) chronic work stress questionnaire; likewise, the DASS-21 mental health questionnaire; the AAQ-7 and UCLA-3 inventories; and finally, for the Pittsburgh sleep quality questionnaire. The participants show a severe and moderate anxiety signs, adding up to 30.7%. On the other hand, depression with moderate and severe symptoms reaches 21.2% and severe stress a 7.7%. During the investigation it was possible to identify the of the personnel.
