dc.description	Resumen: El Protocolo de Cirugía Segura Salva Vidas y la Lista de Chequeo de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), fueron creadas para reducir daños con repercusiones socioeconómicas desfavorables. A pesar de los diversos esfuerzos, en Ecuador, según el Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas y Censos (INEC) se reporta una elevada tasa de morbimortalidad quirúrgica. Es por ello que, surge la necesidad de determinar el uso correcto de Protocolo de Cirugía Segura. El objetivo en este estudio es analizar las prácticas quirúrgicas seguras en cirugías de emergencia y programadas en el Hospital Básico Baeza, durante el período marzo mayo 2022. Se ejecutó un estudio descriptivo, transversal con enfoque cuantitativo, donde participaron 26 profesionales sanitarios y se evalúo, además, el proceso de 93 cirugías programadas y de emergencias. Como resultado se obtuvo un promedio de 31 cirugías mensuales, la mayor productividad corresponde a cirugía general, más de la mitad, fueron programadas con adecuado uso del Protocolo de Cirugía Segura. En conclusión, las intervenciones quirúrgicas realizadas en el Hospital Básico Baeza cumplieron satisfactoriamente con cada parámetro de la lista de verificación de cirugía segura.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Abstract: The Safe Surgery Protocol Saves Lives and the World Health Organization (WHO) Checklist were created to reduce harm with unfavorable socioeconomic repercussions. Despite various efforts, in Ecuador, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC) reports a high rate of surgical morbidity and mortality. That is why the need arises to determine the correct use of the Safe Surgery Protocol. The objective of this study is to analyze the safe surgical practices in emergency and scheduled surgeries at the Baeza Basic Hospital, during the period March - May 2022. A descriptive, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach was carried out, where 26 health professionals participated and the process of 93 scheduled and emergency surgeries was also evaluated. As a result, an average of 31 monthly surgeries was obtained, the highest productivity corresponds to general surgery, more than half were scheduled with proper use of the Safe Surgery Protocol. In conclusion, the surgical interventions performed at the Baeza Basic Hospital satisfactorily fulfilled each parameter of the safe surgery checklist.	es_ES
