Monitoreo de cambio de cobertura del suelo en zonas mineras en el sur del Ecuador (caso estudio páramo del límite provincial de Loja y El Oro)

Abstract

Abstract: The present work focuses on the multitemporal analysis of the area corresponding to the provincial limit between El Oro and Loja, which includes the cantons of Loja and Saraguro on the part of the province of Loja and Atahualpa, Chilla, Portovelo and Zaruma on the side of El Oro. The multitemporal analysis is carried out based on the vegetation cover maps of the years 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010 and 2020, where seven different types of cover are identified, the requirements are: water, forest, pastures and herbaceous vegetation, shrub vegetation, bare soils, paramo and anthropic. As the years go by, both the water and the shrub vegetation increase their areas of concentration while the coverages such as forest, pastures and herbaceous vegetation decrease in their dimensions.
